Happy New Year to all our lovely Chaîne members out there, as well as to the ones who are about to join us! We have already had a busy 2025 thanks to our recent event at the new and strikingly beautiful Le Du Kaan atop the Empire Tower. The views were absolutely stunning, as was the restaurant, so it was not a surprise to learn that Chef Ton Tassanakajohn of Le Du held his own wedding there!
Looking back (it seems so long ago, doesn’t it?), our Alba truffle event at Acqua was also a smashing success. Guests enjoyed a veritable shower of the precious white tuber courtesy of the handsome Chef Alessandro Frau, who generously grated even more truffle onto our parmigiano and sweetbread risottos and our grilled wagyu striploins at the table.
At up-and-coming locavore “chef’s table” Terroir, we held our final OMGD event of the year with a particular focus on the “wine of kings”, Burgundy. Chef Hao Songchaiwana paired acting Echanson Molchaya Techapaibul’s astute selections with some beautiful food, including a maitake mushroom and gingko nut mille-fuille that accompanied a 2019 Meursault and Japanese-style wagyu on rice with a 2021 Premier Cru Pommard.
Finally, we celebrated what has become an annual tradition with a big blow-out for Christmas at the Riva del Fiume at the Four Seasons. What better way to ring out 2024 than with a front-row view of the historic Chao Phraya, with enough oysters, blinis, cheeses and desserts to sink a river cruise ship? We look forward to replicating that evening for Christmas this year, as well as to creating new traditions with all of you. First stop, Madison in February!
